MEWP / IPAF (Mobile Elevated Work Platform)

Overview

Falls from height remain one of the biggest causes of death and serious injury. Upon completion of the course, each successful delegate is issued with a PAL card. The PAL card (Powered Access License) or ‘IPAF Ticket’ confirms that the holder has received adequate training and is competent to operate MEWPS safely and effectively. Who should attend? This certification is for anybody using mobile elevated work equipment on site. Anyone working at height and using scissor lifts or cherry pickers need evidence to prove that they have been trained.

What will you learn?

The trainer will spend time developing the skills and knowledge of the trainee to prepare the candidate to safely work with mobile elevated equipment. As well as preparing them to sit and pass the required Theory and practical tests.

  • Basic understanding of the industry, dangers of working in the industry and responsibilities as a machine operator.
  • General understanding of manufacturer’s handbook
  • Pre-operational checks in accordance with manufacuturer’s requirements
  • Checking of emergency lowering functions
  • Mounting and dismounting the machine safely
  • Configuring the machine for travel
  • Safety checks
  • Platform extension
  • End shift and shut down procedures

Delivery Method

Training and testing can be carried out on your site or at our dedicated training centre. Our delivery will be classroom based. Joining you on the course will be up to four people depending on booking requirements
